GW for Underpriviledged PCs
Guild Wars For Low Maintenance PCS
I've come across numbers of people who just doesn't love GW, but don't have gaming type of computer to play; nor can afford it. Truthfully, most of them are pretty expensive. SOme of them are older and don't carry the high requirements to play it.
obviously, the request would to create a Guild Wars Special for underpriviledged pcs. Clearly even the graphics would be a diluted version of the regular low setting.
This is a great idea since regular gaming pcs can cost too much money.

That's the problem with most modern games, technology is evolving very fast. I don't think this can be really done. Especially with other games coming out, graphics is a high competition.

Graphics at minimum quality, sound at minimum quality.
If that can't run GW, it's time to kick it out of your house.

GW has been designed so it can run on pretty much any computer.
(Though to quote Gaile, "Though that guy with the Commodore 64. He's out.")
Personally if you cannot run GW right now with minimum settings and the command flags posted by Lagg, I don't know how you can even access the internet.

I'm still running on my ancient 64mb graphics card with no trouble. The game is already designed to be extremely scalable for low-end machines. They've got to have a rather bare-bones system to not be able to run it. I really don't think Anet can do anymore than they already have.

Yeah, my friend actually has below requirements for this gam,e it may be a bit laggy, but he can run it. But anything below his PC might be on thin ice for playing Guild Wars.

really? there was this issue I d/l gw into this pc. it would take me to the login screen. within seconds it would fade into darkness. when I contacted arenanet (this was during late august 06) and I believe I just needed more memory and some video card. I took it to some pc shop and they said it would be impossible. they said the pc was too old and even if he added memory, I'd still get the same issue trying to play guild wars. I don't know if he was lying and trying to sell me a pc cause this shop is in brooklyn chinatown and these folks love to rip you off.

I'd like too watch you face the impossible task of adding this too the game. Maybe they should take out all of the scenery and make the graphics 2-D? Just so that people with crappy computers can lag up the servers even more...

Get a job, save up some money and buy a decent pc. If you can't do that i think you have bigger things to worry about than playing Guild Wars.

Well I have a pc in one town that can play GW and another that just can't. Yet, there's a lot of people can't afford a better pc since they aren't some snobby backwards canadian, no offense.

Unfortunatelly, it's not a problem of Anet... they just stated de requirements in the box... so people who can run GW, can buy it...
Although in Kaineng my computer aches and I have to tune down graphics... ahem...
Yet they will never add a 2D client ros omething like that.

I most definitely agree. My computer runs everything on the lowest settings (sound, shaders, graphics. etc....) and it still crashes at some points, such as Resplendent Makuum and Honur Hill.

This is a joke right????
GW is such an old game, you can already build a whole PC that can run it on max for £400.
If thats too much, then seriously get a job.
You dont need a gaming computer to play GW. The last I checked, It states 800mhz and Geforce 3 for minimum specs, which is like over 5 years old now???
